The Girl I Once Knew

In loving memory
Of a girl I once knew
Who took her life away
She thought her future was through

She couldn't stand to be alive
She couldn't stand her pain
She thought God was evil
And life was just his game

Well, she's no longer a player
Of this game she thought was real
Now, all the pain she had
She is unable to feel

Because she is gone and we are here
With all the pain she left behind
While she was doing what she did
She never had us in mind

Never feeling what we would feel
Never considering what we would loose
That was her selfish mistake
And her decision to choose

We couldn't stop her from what she did
For what she did was hers to do
And the outcome of what she did
Turned her into the girl I once knew

The Ironic thing about this poem (sad, but ironic) is that one of my friends killed himself four days after writing this and no one knew he was depressed(he never read the poem either). This was actually about my best friend (at the time) who was in the hospital for trying to OD.
