Welcome to the World

by Shelby G.   Jan 26, 2005

Royalty and Commoners
And the suicide bombers
Office desks and dogs with fleas
Trailer trash and bumble bees
Government and money matters
On-line friends and home run batters
Welcome to the world

Deadly wars and lolly pops
Religous freaks and candy shops
Satanists and foot ball jocks
Baseball shoes and old gym socks
Electronics and Trading card games
Science labs and iron trains
Yes, welcome to the world

This home of ours has been destroyed
Because we've tinkered and we've toyed
We can't undo what we have done
Just because we've had some fun
We'll only go forward, can't go back
Our train has fallen off the track
It gets worse day after day
Our sorries are all we can say
So welcome to the world

I think this poem is really good, except the ending seems a little sudden. It seems like there are a couple of lines that lead up to the ending, that are missing. Really interesting poem, just think the ending lacks something. Keep it up.
