when i am sad
you are right there,
to take me in your arms,
let me bury my face in your hair.

when i am hurt
you stand beside me,
remind me of things
i'm going to be.

when i am scared
you're there for consolation,
unlike any
of my own relation.

but when you're down
you don't even show it.
and it drives me crazy,
right out of my wit.

i want to help you
out with your life
just as you're helping
me with my strife.

you're my best friend
and you always will be,
and i'll never forget
the blessing you're to me.

we both have our moments
we both have our days,
and some hours upon hours
we both feel like strays.

strays from no where
with no family, no kin,
just with each other,
life's battle to win.

so now i can thank you
