A True Best Friend

by Country Bumkin   Jan 30, 2005

Time is ticking before she leaves
she's my courage
my strength
I talk to her about you
well who else am i supposed to talk to the pope
I tell her how my heart is true
true toward you
But now she'll leave
and i will grieve
she is a true best friend
but now she's leaving
I should have gone to talk to you
she would have gone with me
she wanted to.
When you're not here my life is night
but when i see you my world turns to light
she knows all about it
she's the one who put the letter on you car.
I would have done it
but my feet felt like they were in tar
I want to talk to you
i truly do
I wake up a dawn
thinking how i will see her and talk to you
but then i remember
that she is gone
she was a true best friend.
