The Car Wreck

by Country Bumkin   Feb 2, 2007

The car wreck!
I called you and asked you if you wanted to hang out,
You said you were grounded so I hung up to pout.
I went with my mom I found something else to do,
Well later that night I decided to call you.
Ring ring ring that’s all I heard,
The phone kept ringing an answer I didn’t get.
I thought you were mad at me,
For what I have no clue.
So I hung up and went to bed mad,
I was upset you didnt answer, what did I do?
Well on this horrible night I had a horrible dream,
You were in a wreck; all I could do is scream.
I woke up in a cold sweat I realized what it was.
The devil was just tormenting me.
So I rolled over and went back to sleep.
Well the very next morning
I was told you lived that dream.
You were in a wreck that night,
Riding in a truck that decided to take flight.
When the truck landed it struck a tree,
I cried and cried for god to hear my plea.
They told me of your severe injuries,
I wanted to see you to tell you it was ok.
But only family’s allowed to see you at the moment.
You were sitting on the verge of life and death,
Something no girl wants to hear about her friend.
As soon as I’m allowed I shall come see you.
My cousin pointed out something,
Something I failed to see on my own.
What if you had died in that wreck?
And I never told you.
Told you I like you,
How would I feel?
So before anything like this happens again,
I’m here to tell you I like you,
Not just as a friend,
But way much more.
I hope this doesn’t ruin our friendship,
It is one I value most,
But this wreck of yours has opened my eyes.
I now know how much you mean to me,
Thanks to this tragic, terrible thing
That has happened in our lives.
Where we lost a good friend.
One we’ll miss dearly,
We all owe I to this
The Car Wreck.
