Home is in my Heart

by Megan   Jan 30, 2005

I was 17 years old
When my parents ran away
Always fighting
Me always writing
Didn't know what to do
Who to believe
Where to go

Daddy punched the door
Said Mommy was a wh**e
Broke her cross she always wore
Ever since I was four

Mommy said good-bye
And looked towards the sky
Gave a big sigh
I begged to give it another try
She said she wanted to fly

She wanted me to come along
We could sing our song
And be real strong
I knew it was wrong

I said goodbye that day
To Mommy and Daddy they
I saw Mommy pray
And Daddy sway
They begged me to stay

But now I'm on my own
And to them I've shown
I'm the one who's flown
And always known
Home is in my heart...
