My Kyle's Crash

Three a.m.
Phone rings
Mom wakes me
And tells me
Kyle's hurt
We drive to hospital
Kyle's parents are there
They tell me
It's okay
Not to cry
He'll be alright
Car crash
They say
No accident
A crash
I look away
See Kyle in the bed
The hospital bed
Lying there
Barely alive
I walk in
Tears fall down
Hard to breathe
Kyle's hurt
And I can't do anything
But pray
I hold his hand
Kiss his forehead
Tell him
I love him
Doc says
He might not make it
Through the night
He's very sorry
So is everyone else
But that won't bring back Kyle
Kyle's mom starts to cry
I hold her
We hold each other
For a long time
Doc says we can talk to him
He can hear us
But cannot respond
I tell him
How much I love him
How I won't be able
To go on
To live life
With out him
By my side
Without his hugs
His kisses
His love for me
Three days later
Funeral Service
I wear my best black
Want to look my best
For my Kyle
Hug his casket
Say my last goodbye
Kyle's mom and me
We finally understand
Each other
It was no accident
The driver was drunk
Hit Kyle's car
And walks away
Free from
Death
But not Kyle
He killed my Kyle
How can he live with himself
When I cannot
That was a year ago today
And I still miss my Kyle
My sweet sweet Kyle
How I love him so
Rest in peace baby
I'll meet you in Heaven again
Wait for me, promise
I love you baby
