No turning back

There`s a pain that lingers
Deep within my soul
It rips and tears my pride
And for that, I am no longer whole

A part of me I thought I once knew
Left me, lifeless and broken
Sprawled out on the floor I lay
As I slowly fade away to nothing

My body withers to dust
And my hand gropes for my heart,
To rip out the only thing alive
Because even though it is broken,
It is not yet dead.

I grab the blade and slash my body
I will try to slice deep enough
To kill the pain on the inside

I know one day this could change
Maybe things will get better
But how I see it right now
Life is nothing but pain and tears

There is nothing more I could possibly do
There`s no turning back now
This is the perfect ending
To a not-so-perfect life
