Frogs

What good are promises if you never keep them?
what good are lies if no one believes them?
what good is pretending when everything is so real?
what good is love when it hurts so much to feel?

then again, maybe promises were never meant to be kept
and maybe lies were never meant to be told.
maybe pretending is just for little kids,
maybe love only happens when you're old.

you grow up thinking life will be one way
but it never ends up quite like it does in the movies.
you grow up believing in Prince Charmings
but no one's ever been lucky enough to find him.

and when you think you've caught him
and you kiss him on the head
that frog just doesn't budge
he's as good as dead.

so you move onto the next one
but no matter how many frogs you kiss,
you have to realize that life isn't a fairytale
and real Prince Charmings just don't exist.
