There and Back, You'll see...

by Kevin Yang   Feb 1, 2005

The thought of you makes my heart skip a beat...
but cliche phrases don't do justice when we meet.
I long for a time where our love won't be hindered...
only to come to terms with a long, bitter winter.

My soul searches for your presence or spirit if you will...
yet far away you are, way past the next hill.
Your presence is still in me, day in and day out...
but longing for you, sometimes feels like a drought.

I wish you could see me, in every part and every way...
like the sun shining through the clouds bringing forth a new day.
But haunted you were, by a spector I know not where...
I tried to take the pain away, through knowledge of what you'd share.

In the end I thought I'd failed, because you were no longer with...
me til the end, for I was without bliss.
The inner essence of my heart screamed to be heard...
hoping that you'll listen, rather than fly away like a bird.

I grasp at straws, trying to understand your mind...
yet blindsighted I am, often pushed away from behind.
When the chips are down, I will always here...
but I wonder what use am I, if I can't quell your fear.

Throughout my days and nights, I miss you so much...
that warm feel of you next to me, the sense of your touch.
The idealist in me, hopes for you to see...
how true I am to you, and how I will forever be.

But how much faith can one have, in a vision, in a dream...
when nothing tangible is present, and nothing is as it seems.
It's tantalizing to think about, what hours in motion hold...
yet I know should not, crave that which is too bold.

However, as always with you, I always see the good...
I know you'll see me, I know that you would.
From the day that I met you, I felt you would be...
the person of my dreams, my wife then you'll see.
