My Best Friend…..

You were my best friend
We did everything together
Hardly ever apart
You were my best friend

I told you everything
You told me everything
We knew everything about each other
You were my best friend

But suddenly we were doing less and less together
I stopped telling you all my secrets
You got new friends, so did I
But still you were my best friend

I felt bad because I have known you all my life
We barely ever talk
But I still care about you
You are still my friend

Now we never talk
Just sometimes in the halls
An occasional “Hi” or “Bye”
I have new friends they are getting closer and closer to me
We are becoming best friends

You are growing closer to your friend
Me to mine
You are happy with them
I am happy with mine
You guys are having fun like we used to

Sometimes tears want to roll down my face, but for some reason in my heart you will still be my friend!!
