Secret window

by Sinister Soire   Feb 6, 2005

I can sit beside myself
And look into my life
And no matter what I think of me
My life is full of strife

I follow me everywhere
Not a care where I go
I cannot change what I do
I must go with the flow

In the darkness I’m almost gone
And in the light of day
I conquer my world of hate
But can’t do anything I say

The darkness is my only fear
And it removes me from this world
I cannot stand the feeling
Of my life being unfurled

The light of day is my creator
And it brings about my life
Removes the pains from the dark
Relinquishes the knife

I think it is obvious now
That I am just a shadow
Or my former self locked away
Behind a secret window

The first time I read this one I actually didn't like it, but now that I have reread it I really like it. I guess I was in a hurry the last time. I still dont like the eight sentence, it kind of doesen't fit with the rest of the poem, but exept that its really great:)

This is a really good poem. I really liked it a lot. It expresses how a lot of people feel a lot of the time. And you really put it into words...

This poem is good...and no I won't end my life just yet...but it does hurt when people ask me to stay in this world...
