Blessings and tidings pure

by Unrequited   Feb 13, 2005

Reach out
receive your blessing
ask not
for tidings pure
expel
your lover’s soul
because today
is the day it dies
for she
does not love you
anymore

pray
for the weak
reply
and look me in the eye
your savior
is my savior too
remember
what’s lost is lost
breathe in
the cold night air
i will lie down with you

angels
in the clouds
demons
underneath the rocks
people
in the streets
dogs
in their houses
ants
in their hills
you,
me
arm in arm,
we sit still

everything
we do feels right
as we try
to right our wrongs
we fight the fight
together
our love
compels us to
read
between
the lines
begin
to ride
the sky
my feelings do not lie
…I love you
