A rose in the library

by Semaran   Feb 14, 2005

The morning breaks on snowed in streets,
the first light with my window meets,
and sweetly softly warms my heart.

I trudge the cold the snow beneath,
and dream of beauties floral wreath,
rainbows vivid in my mind.

I stop the car and go afoot,
the counter sees my money put,
and a flower comes to meet my touch.

the paths lead here ever here,
for this day makes all coming dear,
that sight i wait to calm my soul.

a coward sees no actions made,
the girl goes past desire lade,
my chest beats hollow, heartless.

the single rose is hither placed,
to lose all power from its grace,
these books hide shame.

The petels of the supple flower,
wilt with the growing of the hour,
Bless thee sweet now rot and die.

today we court St Valentine
