The long road home

by Stephanie   Feb 18, 2005

The road is twisted and jagged,
Its hard to walk straight,
Tell me again why I can't give into fate,
I can't find my way,
I can't see the light,
I can't see the end of the tunnel,
Lost in the dark of the night,
and its getting cold now,
and I' am all alone,
Can you please find me,
and show me the way home,
Its so hard to find on your own,
How do I know your lies from your truths,
How do I know you don't want me lost,
So that you can blind my weakened mind,
With your theories and your laws,

I see now the road was always long and narrow,
I was the one walking twisted and jagged,
My mind was clouded from deceit,
I was tricked by bliss,
And lost in defeat,
I listened to your lies far to long,
I've found my own path now,
The road is still long,
But I'm close to home now,
And I know I'll make it there,
Where people love me,
The ones who truly did care.
So I'll let go of your hand now,
and find my own path,
Even if I take the wrong one,
I won't be coming back,
So this is goodbye and farewell,
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now,
And I can feel you slipping further from me,
But I' am at my front door now,
And I' am finally free.
