On the Inside

by sami   Feb 22, 2005

She feels nothing and hears nothing
Her self-esteem low
People walk past her
And whisper as they go

" They look as if they've seen a ghost," she says
But knows that is not true
For what they really see in her
Has long since turned blue

On the outside she may be the prettiest girl
But others can see right through that
And look right into the endless pit
That's covered up beyond that

So now she sits in her dark hole
Her popularity long diminished
And wishes for a second chance
To finish what must be finished
