Sixteen
And ready to die,
She whispered silently,
As she began to cry.
They lay together,
The battle was won.
She held him close,
Through the rising sun.

Never forget me,
As I'll never you.
Keep all your dreams,
They'll help you pull through.
Hearts can be broken,
Dreams turned to fear.
Light turned darkness,
But our love is sincere.

Although I am young,
And had so much to give.
It's just my time,
But you need to live.
I fought for freedom,
For the sky to be blue.
Our hearts to be together,
So I give my life to you.

He wiped her tears,
And gave her one last kiss.
I love you so much,
You’re the one I will miss.
I will meet you again,
This isn't goodbye.
