Absolutism

So many little loves in life

I remember this morning
how the snow knew to fall
in the dark around the streetlights
and I loved that

then at daybreak I found I could
stand on the world's disk
with the Sun rising on my left hand
and the Moon setting on my right
and I loved that

I remembered that somewhere
new books were being written and
photos were being taken and small
new children were walked
in parks wrapped in winter coats
and I loved that

and I remembered that I had my space
in a building with green hallways
and soft lights that would lead me to
my door where I could enter and sit
and write about anything I chose

and I loved that.
