Smile

by PoetsSecrets   Feb 27, 2005

The tears trickle down my face softly and tumble to the ground
They shatter on the pavement without making a sound
The tears of an angel should never have to fall
But those kinds of promises aren't guaranteed at all
You can try and hide from pain but it will never work
No one goes through life without at least once being hurt
You wrap your arms around you to shield you from strife
But nothing seems strong enough to shield you from the joys and pains of life
You now that crying never really helps
But it does seem to kind of soothe the pain when your by yourself
Battles are better fought when they're fought in twos
So what happens when the only person fighting is you
You can just imagine the circle of your lovers arms
Wrapping around you to shield you from all harm
You can feel the empty space,
that they just replaced
A smile touches your lips and so does a kiss
They pull you close and tell you this
"No matter the problem, big or small, smile through it baby, smile through it all."
