Forever Here

I looked up to the clear blue sky
And asked the blessed father why
Why he took her away from me
Why he couldn’t let her be

When I heard the terrible news
I sat there crying and confused
Deep inside I felt my heart
As it slowly ripped and broke apart

The questions running through my mind
Were questions like, “was it her time?”
I wondered how this could be
How quickly she left her family

I wondered how my mom must feel
Oh! How this all seems unreal
As I slowly got out the car
The world just seemed so miserably far

I prayed that night to never forget
My grandmother I only once met
And even though she is not near
Our loving grandmother will forever be here
