Been a little less lately

by Chris Young   Mar 1, 2005

You've never been there,
"why do you feel so small?"
you've never seen it,
"why must they break us all?"
they haven't seemed to care,
they haven't tried to help,
they've never seemed to share,
"your fear."

they haven't suffered here,
been broken down before,
they can't comprehend,
"your tears"

I'll stand to your left...and it'll come from within,
all your fears and regrets...seem to strangle you a-gain,
breaking you down...cut off your hope but hear me,
you're worth more...than you'll ever know.

it's a shame and a pity, your broken inside,
but if I can state clearly,
and you'll listen you'll find...

it's a shame and a pity, your broken inside,
but if I tell it clearly,
and you'll listen you'll find
that there's...

many more like you in our world today,
you feel that you're nothing, that you need to change,
you don't understand that your ineptness is fake,
and that the few that seem strong they want your life and they take it,
for their selfish purpose...
for their selfish gain...
for scant bits of pleasure...
but they're still the same.

hold strong,
there's a secret you'll find,
it seems that you're worth more... than all of their kind,
why do you feel so different, as if you're outside...
a lesson, sweet thing, you're turning the tide.

for "normal" has become altered and obscured,
where the weak and tempted...
"the transient filth"
have become the masses,
you see they've conquered the field.

so the next time you're weak...the next time you're worthless,
the next time you know that there's no point to it all,
the next time you're weak...the nest time you're nothing,
just try to believe, you're not only fighting for you...
it's not only you...it's me.
