Heidi's Story

by shae r   Mar 4, 2005

She woke up to the yelling
Of her parent’s non-stop fight
She heard glass breaking as it hit the floor
And she held on to her doll real tight

She finally got up out of bed
And saw her mother being knocked to the ground
She took a few steps back wards
And tried not to make a sound

Hurt filled tears fell from her eyes
As she ran back to her room
And this little girl desperately wished
That it would all be over soon

A few minutes had passed
When her dad came rushing in
And picked her up off her bed
His breath smelling of gin

He sad “I’m real sorry Heidi
But your mums not coming back
She has selfishly left us here all alone”
He then began to pack

When he had gathered the things he needed
He rushed Heidi to the front door
She felt a little confused
As she passed her mother asleep on the floor

Outside the police were waiting
With guns, dogs and all
They handcuffed Heidi's dad
And covered her mother, still asleep on the floor

Heidi now seventeen
She still doesn’t understand
How all of her hurt and suffering
Could be caused by her father’s hand
