When I am Gone

by Jeff   Mar 4, 2005

One day the journey shall start,a lifetime journey
Everybody will be on the journey, what differs is time and day
This journey is unusual, only one man has ever returned
Most feared and hated, only some saints asks for it
Today I sit and wonder, what will happen when I am gone?
Will you cry in pain,or will you celebrate and dance?
What legacy will my children inherit,is it fame or shame
What names will they be called, children of our hero or looser?
How old will they be,I feel pain thinking about that
What color will my coffin be,is it silver or gold
What photo will be on my coffin, the one I cry or I smile?
What music will people play on my funeral,is it reggae or rock and roll?
Will all men wear black suits, will ladies be in suit too?
What car will carry my coffin,is it Jaguar or Range?
Will CNN broadcast my funeral LIVE?Deep down I wonder
Will the media interview my wife? What questions will they ask her?
Will men in uniforms stand beside my coffin,or just my wife and kids?
Who will remain true friends?Even when I can not move or talk
What will they say about me?I do not even wanna think
Neighbor will you cry or laugh, damn better he is gone
What will you do as a poet? Will you write about me?
Will my funeral be your priority?or busy writting poems?
Will my house remain a home?or will be another hell?
What will happen when I am gone, can someone even guess?
