The Road I Wish For

by ashley koler   Mar 7, 2005

Try to imagine a dirt road on a sun-shinning day.
There is nothing wrong nothing to get in the way.
Clear blue sky, green grass, and colorful flowers.
The kind of place you could admire for hours.

But then clouds begin to drift in, darkening the scene.
Flowers loose color, the road turns black, grass no longer green.
You start to walk this road as drops of water fall from the sky.
Lonely spirits with empty faces drearily pass by.

It starts to turn cold . . . a lifeless, painful kind of cold.
You feel this burning cold in your heart as your hope is sold.
You are drenched from the rain, feeling nothing but pain.
All the trees around you know you're going insane.

You see a dark figure on the road up ahead.
You keep walking toward it as your vision turns dark red.
If you approach him you know it will be the end.
You walk up to him and greet him as your friend.
