Alone

by Jordana   Mar 9, 2005

She's forced out into the brutal world,
with only headphones as comfort.

the long and painful walk suddenly ends.
sooner then she realized she wanted.

she walks, and the birds flee.
she dies, and the vulcans swarm her.

piece by piece she falls apart.
each step loses more and more.

surrounded by what feels like leaves
blowing in the wind.

one leaf falls right next to her.
she weeps, in knowledge of no return.

the tears in her eyes are hidden
behind her own insecurities.

trusting that the only way to go is right
and that its the only way left

doors open around her as the light shines through.
there is no turning back as she walks.

walks once again on the path.
the path to her future, her thoughts and her dreams.

the path where she feels safe
where the leaves do not fall
the vulcans do not swarm
the birds do not flee
and the truth is told.

yet, without the leaves... vulcans... and birds...
would be the life she wants.
the life she dreams to have.

this is the path of her life.
her life filled with dreams.
