Fairy Tale- about a father

by StormyWeather   Mar 9, 2005

Once upon a time there was a girl
She cried every morning and every night
Her cheeks were bruised and purple
From her fathers latest fight
There was a girl who knew
She’d have no happy ever after
A girl who longed just to be loved
To hear her mother’s laughter
There was a girl who would not tell
She held her head up high
She won’t betray her father even
Though he makes her cry

She loves him and she hates him
She cannot walk away
She cannot tell she will not talk
Well just what could she say?
There was a girl who loved to read
Old fairy-tales in bed
She would wish herself the princess
She would wish her demons dead

She won’t admit it hurts her
She will not let him see
The pain she feels inside her heart
Will never let her free
There was a girl who could not tell
She held her head up high
She won’t betray her father
Until the day she dies
But the catch to this sad story is
That she lived through her fear
She fell in love and now her fathers
Fairy tale ends here
