A habiat

by Lexi Lou   Mar 10, 2005

A “broken” habit seeps through
The cracks of your mind
What you thought you conquered
Is the reason you fall behind

You over powered it before
And felt safe for a time
And when you were unaware
It began to re-design

All that hard work to lose again
To think of all you suffocated for
When you thought it all was gone
It snuck in through another door

You are strung up by the devil
Your life isn’t your own
Resorting back to old ways is the only thing
Your brain does without being shown

You fall to your knees
While it overpowers your soul
Every breath you breathe
It takes over you more

They say grab life by the horns
But it\'s got you by the throat
Unrealistic, come watch the drama
Murder the habit wrote

A habit is addicting
One swish, swallow and you cant stop
It become a part of you
Your unable to give it up

You give up the moldy armor
Give up to the ways you fought against
The towel is thrown in
And the presence of defeat is sensed

If only it hadn’t existed
If only you didn’t tease and instigate
You could wish away the day with what ifs
But its pointless to contemplate

Everyone surrenders at different times
But the plague always comes out on top
Because it reminds you of your weakness
And everything your not
