My mistakes

I was wrong, you was right
messed up in my head was i
couldn't seem to find the day of light
to you all i did was lie

Yes i was getting myself in trouble
meeting men and taking a drug
life was falling down into rubble
and i was taking you for a mug

I know all this is my own doing
but u didn't exactly help
taking a back seat to your own private viewing
not hearing a single one of my yelp

You told me you loved me
and would always be there
but the same day you replaced me
saying it was only till i could prove for you i care

I begged and pleaded with you
told you I'd straighten myself out
asked for a chance to be true
yet you still had your doubt

I watched you walk away
with nothing i could do
cried my heart out all day
wishing we could start anew

Slowly i dried my eyes
got my mind back on track
told the truth and stopped the lies
made myself a pack

I straightened out my life
got myself clean
left behind all the strife
and no longer am i mean

So I'm writing this to you
sending all my love
letting you know now I'm true
and as pure as a dove!
