God's Angels

by Shelby G.   Mar 14, 2005

Laying on the grey ground
Dead as it could be
A light had shone and grabbed my hand
And then it said to me:

"Dear, sweet child, bleeding and in pain
You are very colorful, but your world is very plain
Please stand up and feel the rain
Do not let yourself go insane."

"No," I replied, I was in tears
"I dare not try to face my fears"
"Then" she said, in a low tone voice
"I suppose you give me no choice"

And then she left without a trace
I thought she might take my life
But as the rain beat on my face
I felt I had no more strife

There is a God, and he really loves me
He sent an angel from above
He knows I wouldn't try and survive
So no matter what I said, She'd keep me alive

"Thank you, Angel" had said I
"I know this isn't a final good-bye
You'll come back, my angel friend
And keep me from reaching a fatal end

I looked at the sky, thanking the Lord
And went on my way without a word
In that moment, I'd thought I was dieing
But God sent me an angel to keep me from crying
