Desire

Desire
For what I am about to write
Chides against my principles of life
For I covet another mans wife
Head hung in shame, for we have shared similar strife

For I offer a world of happiness
Centered and focused on building our lives together
Cannot make promises, but bear witness
That you will be the epicenter to my universe

You have tantalized my heart and soul
I am left breathless every time we speak
My chest tight, imagining what your arms will feel like
I close my eyes and feel you near, for you have become part of me

Where you are another mans piece of furniture
To be placed and moved at his whim
Another possession that he calls his own
When my life would be enhanced with you being the catalyst

For my world would revolve around you
Taking joy in strolling hand in hand
The playful words as you witness the spark in my eyes
But as I sit here, being the other man

You were clear that we can just be friends
For I agreed as we had just begun
Never knowing how you would impact my life
My sweet dear, another mans wife

Scared to take your hand in mine
For it would start a fire that would burn for all time
You have allowed me to care again
My thankfulness cannot be expressed in words

For I want you at my side
As an equal, always one with me walking astride
I want people to see us and know love is real
Just seeing us together and wanting what we have

Today you are an item to be used as needed
Whereas in my life, you would be the world that my life is built on
Come to me and allow us to love
For you my dear are the response to my many prayers
