Climb our Mountain

Climb our Mountain

Take my hand dear, can’t you see
What this mountain means to you and me
Our goal is not just to reach the peak
It is the journey, each plateau that we seek

For this mountain is our life
Each path we take filled with joy and hardship
Each detour impacts how we shall arrive
For the summit is not what we seek, the correct path for which we strive

It is not a race to achieve the top
It is enjoying lifes wonderment, at every stop
We must embrace where we are at now
Do not look up or back from where we began

Lessons learned from detours made
Will assist us in this daunting crusade
A stream or brook a jagged ledge
Is part of life, in a path well chosen

Sometimes direction is not our choice
Picked at random by a hidden voice
Let us take time to enjoy the view
A strong team we are, me and you

The beast is best tackled side by side
For if we meander to far apart
We may lose direction, and begin a lonely ride
Stick to me close, and together as from the start

Take joy in the here and now
Put your head on my shoulder, for I am half of a whole
Look at the beauty that surrounds us here
Part way up, pocketing our fear

For this mountain is a life long goal
We have a head start, in the journey of ours
Knowledge is strength, combined with a loving soul
Our partnership exquisite, where others left scars

Should we take the path well trampled
Or blaze a new path, together as chosen
With you at my side, my fears are chased away
Living in love, day after glorious day

Lets take sometime to enjoy this spot
We can glance down and merit our choices
In a path taken, blindsided by obscure chances
Let us shout our joy with spiritual voices
