Reason Unheard

by Samantha   Mar 15, 2005

The words I whisper,
Barely audible:

Lightly lifted,
Transparently gifted.
Smooth to the fingertips,
Removed from the surface of my lips.
Resounding in a dampened cell
Where they crashed when they fell.
Creeping up the stone-cold walls;
Their echoes fill up the halls.
And down the many corridors
Until they reach their founding source.
"Outside, the rain; it pours-
So close the windows, open doors.
Let in the light of day."
These are the words I say.
"Never let what is beyond
Break apart the common bond
Formed by new light, old dark and all between;
By what is plain and what can't be seen."
Now let sweet memories drift before your eyes-
This is where true happiness lies.
