An ode to my best mate

A reason to love and a reason to care,
A reason to give and a reason to share,
These are the things that you gave to me,
this is the way it was meant to be,

You are the best friend I've ever had,
When i met you i was ever so glad,
you are so perfect,couldn't ask for more,
i knew you were the best,i was so sure,

That's why i picked you,I'm glad i did,
we were even close when i was a kid,
you fill my life with happiness and cheer,
and when I'm with you i never feel fear,

Cos you make me feel so alive and loved,
never feel like I've been pushed or shoved,
that's how i felt with some other friends,
when I'm with you my heart naturally mends,

I don't know how to tell you this girl,
but you always seem to brighten my world.
