Mirror Image

by DeAnna   Mar 19, 2005

I walk past the mirror
and something catches my eye
who is that girl in there?
she looks like she wants to cry
what does she want?
why is she here?
she looks so sad and alone
and has no one near
she appears so depressed
like there lies no hope
I feel really sorry for her
I just hope she'll be able to cope
I can't help her
because I really don't care
no one ever helps me
so I'd call it fair
I feel like crying now
with no one to hold
where is everyone?
I've become so cold
but this girl in the mirror
has already begun to weep
she looks like she's fallen
and it looks like she's fallen deep
where is God for people like her?
she needs help, can't you tell?
her life is horrible
It's like a living hell
she needs your help
she's broken inside
can't you see the dark in her eyes
and all the nights she's cried?
look at the life she lives
and all the cuts on her arms
she needs you with her
to protect her from harms
I can see it in her eyes
she longs for your help
she needs something from someone
she can't do it by herself
I can't help her
God, you must
she needs someone with her
someone she can trust
and I'm just going to stand here
and in the mirror, stare
and I'll just think and pray
that someone will sometime care
and I just wish and hope
that someday I'll see
hopefully one day
I'll see that the girl in the mirror is me.

let me know what you think about this.. please, it would mean alot
