A Moonlit Love

It was a moonlit night with a clear dark sky,
When the twinkle of a "star" had caught my eye.
This heavenly jewel with hair of blue,
an angelic beauty... Well, it was you.
Time had stopped as my heart skipped a beat,
I knew at once, that we had to meet.
I began to go up to you, but thought of you turning me down,
So I gave up my chance and turned right around.

It was a moonlit night with a clear night sky,
When I sat there waiting for this girl to pass by.
I sat there waiting like I've done every night before,
And every time I saw you, I loved you even more.
I closed my eyes and imagined everything that you were,
Your glistening eyes, your perfect smile, your captivating lure.
When I regained my consciousness, I saw you right there.
You were looking at me... So I froze, paralyzed by your stare.

It was a moonlit night, with a clear bright sky,
When I finally gained the courage to say hi.
We sat... and stared... and laughed... and smiled.
We talked for hours, and then after a while...
I held your hand, looked you in the eye, and said that... I love you.
