Childish

by Lexi Lou   Mar 22, 2005

Propped up in the apple tree
where my laughter echos through the breeze
looking down at the lost world below
not knowing where to look or go

the glow of the sun breaks through
the shadows of the leaves you knew
so reflection of light is spotted on your skin
but the real sunshine lies within

hanging from a branch by my knees
being as childish as i please
reaching for an apple in my grasp
for a second letting go of the past

taste the sweet juice and partake
hear the crunching sound with each bite you take
your hair upside down with the wind on your face
time fights reason and melts back into space

for old times sake you carelessly hang
knowing you will never get your child hood back again
forget the pressures on your plate
enjoy the time of growing up before its to late

forget your fear of heights just fly
forget the opportunity's that passed you by
forget how childish you may appear
let simplicity take you away from here
