Stolen Words

by cheese and money   Mar 23, 2005

Right now I’m just at a loss for words
There’d still be some there if you hadn’t ripped them out of my throat.
Gagging on the absence of a worthy response I forget to breathe
I begin to cough and you just stand there.
“Is this amusing?!” finally all this effort is worth while.
The long silence between us causes me to wonder if you’re choking on more than words.
Well I hope your intentions are lodged deep in your throat,
So your lips won’t even hope to experience the sensation of the inferno meant to burn my ears.
But once I catch my breath I’ll smite yours with such passion you’ll be left with even less than your ability to respire.
I can feel the torrid of rage swell deep down in my stomach
Ready to hurl at you all of the tears I’ve swallowed.
But the flame dies down.
My voice is muzzled.
Apparently along with my stolen words, you stole my heart.
