The virgin rose

by ..::.alreadyGoNe..::.   Mar 25, 2005

She looked so sad
standing on the balcony
her curls resting ever so softly
against her porcelain skin
her lips were a deep red
big and luscious
roses curled around the pillars
her eyes were an everlasting blue
clear and glass like
she rested her had against her face
and sighed
the moon shone like a silver
medallion
hanging ever so peacefully in the dark midnight
nothing could break the stillness
nothing
her dress rustled as she ran
past all the trees
she ran and ran
and stopped when she reached the mirror filled room
her reflection stared back at her
so beautiful
but no one could touch her
no, not one kiss
it was forbidden
the stars sang quietly
singing along with her
her voice was lovely
sweet as syrup
running through the air
like golden horses galloping
the notes seemed to hang in the air
a man walks up
the most handsome man she has ever seen
he sings with her
the creatures of the night join in
in harmony they sing
they fall in love
sweet sweet love
his eyes were now softened by her presence
she had graced him
he leaned in to kiss her
their lips locked
her whole body tingled
she had waited her whole life for this
he wrenched away
screaming
then he turned to stone
his face staring blankly
she cried running away
tearing her dress
her crystal tears fell
like tiny raindrops
reflecting the moon, the stars, the man
then she returned to her balcony
