Depression Among Teens

by Olivia   Mar 26, 2005

Depression.
Truly a disease, that affects so many teens.
So much confusion and hostility.
Too many bad things, taking over our lives.
Seems people can try to help others with all their heart, and never get through to them.
There's really nothing anyone can do, except wait for them to come to their senses, and help themselves.
Why do so many teens die from suicide?
Why does the amount keep increasing?
"There are ways to get help from others," as everyone says,
But who really cares,
If you'd rather be dead...
No one can truly help a suicidal teen,
They just have to do it themselves.
You can say some things, to make someone feel better,
But seriously, it won't do much.
A suicidal teen must find them self, And they can do it, even without the help of anyone else.
Adults try to help, by talking all weird.
Teachers at school, don't really seem to care,
All they'll do is send people to the counselor.
Instead of helping,
The counselors end up completely annoying.
Next time you're completely frustrated with life,
Just remember, don't be afraid to tell someone to leave, to let you be by yourself.
Learn to laugh at yourself,
And to keep everything in life real,
And discover yourself.
