The Girl In Black

by paulina.♥   Mar 29, 2005

I’m constantly alone.
No place to call my own.
I’m the girl dressed in black.
No friends to watch my back.

All of the popular kids laugh in my face,
But their rap, hip-hop, r&b, and pop music are a disgrace.
It shows no true emotion.
So I do not understand the commotion.

Songs about guns and dates are loved by most,
They are so proud of the shit they boast:
“Hehe! I bought the Ashlee Simpson CD!”
“Yo, dawg, I just listened to Jay-Z.”

They laugh at me because I am not like them.
Because I am not part of their pink trend.
They dress in those horrible clothes that are oh, so bright.
While I am rejected and referred to as the creature of the night.

I love that poem. It's so... real. It's with reality. People are always saying 'look at her...freak' when I wear anything black. I hate it but I've never really been able to describe it.... that just did. Amazing... Elle x
