Nick

(I do not care if you rate this poem a 1.0, it does not matter if this poem is the worst poem I could possibly write. All that matters is that this poem is from the heart.)

Nick, remember the days when you were my best friend?
I hoped our friendship would last until the end.
You taught me so much.
Things about the earth, evolution, why there is no God and such.

I remember our fights with Alex and how you wanted him to die.
I loved you so much, Nick, I would even cry.
I remember falling in love with your wonderful face,
Hoping that one day, I would feel your warm embrace.

I later loved you for the way you were,
And all of the things you made me learn.
I remember wanting to kiss you for quitting smoking,
And when you started again, wanting to scream, “Are you frigging joking?”

Last time we spoke, you told me how much I had grown.
And I stated, “Oh, my Nick, in my heart, you’ll always have a home.”

(Dedicated to Nick. Just a few memories we shared. I love you.)
