The night; the death; the love

by ..::.alreadyGoNe..::.   Apr 1, 2005

The night is dark
the wind cold
a body lays on the ground
her eyes stare blankly above
for all eternity
red and blue lights flash

it was a long night
her mother screamed at her
telling her she was worthless
that she would never amount to anything
she dares to look back
tears welling her eyes

"i hate you!" she screams
the she rips open the door
and runs
she trips and falls
her knees bloody and torn
but she doesn't feel the pain
she only feels the sadness
she continues to run
stumbling in the inky darkness

she tears across the highway
tires squeal
the air reeks of burnt rubber
there is a single scream
a crunch of metal
a thud as a body hits the ground
blood pours around the girl's body

she never really had the chance
to say
i love you
she wasted all her time
steam lifts from the sidewalk
an ambulance takes her away
but it is too late
she is already gone
her body moves up and down
as electricity flows through her body
they cannot bring her back

her mother cries
screaming at them to bring her baby back
but they have done all they could
her father is not around anymore
wasted away from drinking
and drugs
he hit them
bruises had peppered their bodies

now the daughter is dead
the funeral is gray
hardly anyone shows up
no one really cared
she wasn't someone too important
just as she had feared when she was here
only one person approaches the casket
her mother; holding a single rose

she places it on top of the cheap black box
which holds someone
she had loved
someone she had taken her anger out on
she's so sorry now
but there is no going back
she goes home and pops a cap on a bottle of beer
and drinks

she wastes her life away to nothing
just like her husband
she had willed herself
never to be like him
but there is nothing left worth living for now
she takes a gun out of a drawer
and puts it to her head
she pulls the trigger
the neighbors hear a single shot
they call 911

but the woman has already joined her daughter
together they forgive
and love, for all eternity
