Just another soldier

by No Motiv?   Apr 5, 2005

Just another soldier
just another life
leaving his own home
his child and his wife

just another soldier
just another war
names and faces forgotten
as bullets start to soar

just another soldier
just another loss
bodies laying in fields
in winter's decaying frost

just another soldier
just another fight
rising against the evils
that contradict his rights

just another soldier
just another death
keeping us free
as he takes his last breath

just another soldier
just another name engraved
just another man
who kept our country safe.

Makes one think really hard about all the lives lost so ours can be spared. Good job putting things back into perceptive for the reader.
