Existence of the Immortal (Part 1)

by Eden   Apr 9, 2005

(This poem was kinda long, so I split it in half. It's one of my favorites)

---------------------------------------
These rules you give that I should heed,
Are useless! Of them I have no need.
It seems like you are stalking me
Preying upon my flesh with claws.

Ripping, digging into my life. Start
Letting blood pour from my heart.
What substance is this coming out of me
Black water staining your hands.

But you do not care.
No one to hear my screams is there.
And that is what you’ve had planned all along
That I should die at your mercy in sorrow.

Yet that satisfaction you shall not have.
My thoughts on my wounds like healing salve.
What strength I’m gaining that you should gauge,
And run you should from my shadow.

Standing now in an aura of darkness
Essence of Evil upon my breath,
Breathing death into all things
That dare to cross my path.

To me there is nothing human left
You are the cause of this supernatural theft.
Now all there is, even I can’t tell,
Though I know there is none of you.

Bluish-black skin gleaming by the moon,
Eyes the color of deepest maroon.
Nails not yet stained with fresh blood
Sinews not yet used for killing.

Red-tipped black wings unfurling high
First breath of death let out with a sigh.
All curves of dark and sinister silk
A sense of feminine beauty and grace.

What’s wrong, Little One?
This war I shall finally have won?
Run, I will give you head start…
Happiness all the more for me.

Seeing you run, now a mile away
Just for a few more seconds I’ll stay
Then, lifting my wings to the wind
Catching me…soaring to the sky.

Hiya Eden! I love your poems, the one thing I love most about em are the titles. Without a cathchy title, you have no readers. But you got that part down GOOD! -Anonymous-
