Brutality

by Tarikins   Apr 12, 2005

Searching the darkness for the slightest hint of light,
Blindly reaching out for a knowing soul.
Laughing echoes as I wander deaths maze,
Searching for the key to life that I know I’ll never find.

Pains icy breath on my skin as I fall to my knees,
No longer can I keeping fighting.
To weak to block its corruption,
To tame to be free once again.

Tired of trying to cut the ropes that bind me,
Sick of trying to find something that doesn't exist.
I can feel it eating me inside,
Destroying every trace of who once was in this human shell.

My ashes crumble to the ground,
Yet still I can feel the pain.
Still I can see the cold world that will forever hold me hostage,
No matter what I do I’ll fade into its skin.

Trapped within its walls I am,
Dying inside..and still I am alive.
Screaming and kicking as it drags me under,
Breaking the remains of my already shattered heart.
