False Steps Forward.

by ReenIe   Apr 13, 2005

I'm tired of sitting here, taking false steps forward, never going any where.

We say things we don't really mean, never keeping promises.

You are always there physically, but never more. When I need you, you are not there, when I don't you also aren't there.

It doesn't really matter though, the way the world has handled me has left me broken and numb, so your piercing words I cannot feel and your burning eyes do not hurt.

Your words and in your person in whole does not affect me anymore. When I look at you, you are barely there.

I can see right through you. I can see the ugly truth behind every word, and it makes me sick to know.

I remember a time when our love was fresh ands pure, innocent. We would talk for hours. And the way you would look at me was innocent.

But now all I can see is the evil in you and your intentions when I look at your eyes.

I realized how much we have grown apart. I now see how much you don't know me, the way you think you own me.

The way we won’t leave for the sake of each other.

All we can do is watch the time pass us by as we sit here, hand in hand, taking false steps forward.

Never moving forward, never going back, but just here in this unmoving state for eternity.
