Masquerade

by Yunami   Apr 14, 2005

Hide behind your mask,
Pretend you are a princess.
Pretend your truly happy,
Dream of successes.

Silently you sleep,
Deep in your Masquerade.
Slowly your prince will come,
Then begin to fade.

Your tears run down your cheek,
Covered by the porcelain shield.
Your mind begins to break,
Burning your flower field.

Behind your little mask,
No one can see your tears.
Being lost in a crowd and alone,
Became your newest fears.

Do not cry little girl,
You still have one task.
Forever hide your face
Behind your porcelain mask.

Wow...I never thought of it that way. I mean....when you hide your feelings it is like you are hiding who you are. Right? Well that's what I think. I love this poem cause it gets you thinking. I love the whole idea of this poem too. Overall this was a great poem. Keep on writing cause I love reading your work! 5/5
