The Broken Mask

by Eden   Apr 14, 2005

Spinning, slowly staring on;
Silent song within my mind.
Bereft of peace wherein lies
The truth of life's mistreatment.

Tossing, confused I turn in my bed,
Virulent dreams choking my mind.
Longing for chaos, I was meant for suffering
The truth of life's benevolence.

Colors swirl around my head,
Venomous glares from demonic means...
Strapped down, unable to move!
I'm in this room of white...so secure.

A seam in this straight jacket of imprisonment
Stretches, and my blood trickles out in rivulets.
White suit now stained with my crimson life,
No mask can hide my wounds.
My white mask shatters while on my face,
As the disease called Humanity strikes me.
Now my face is revealed...
Everything stops spinning and I stare solemnly
At the beholder of my eyes.
Blackened skin that was hidden
Behind the broken mask of purity
Parts into a sinister smirk.

I look upon my foe of humanity with disdain.
I know that now, since my mask of white was discovered and destroyed, I am stronger than all.
My blood stops dripping, and my wound heals,
Leaving a nondescript scar for memory.
Still looking at the horror-struck fiend of mine,
I rip open the decaying shroud of white that is wrapped ever-so-tightly around me and I scream a raging thunderous sound of death.
In one fluid movement,
I have my enemy's throat within my grasp...

.....They will be nevermore.
For now they bow to me.
I am my own and not theirs to destroy...
By eliminating my mask of purity,
They have brought Death upon themselves.
So be it.....
