Cant Loose What You Never Had

It doesn't matter how hard I try
I just can't shake this feeling
This tear in my eye

It was my choice
A choice that I chose to make,
And now at the end of it all
I realize my mistake

I broke your heart
So many times I know
If only I could turn back time
then I could stop and think a little be fore I go.

You can't always get what you want in life i heard,
I guess this pain is my punishment,
For having something I didn't deserve

They say if you really really love something,
You got to set it free.
But in this case I didn't let you go,
You got up and walked away from me.

Often I stop and think to myself
Whats the point in feeling sad,
When all in all at the end of the day
You cant loose what you never had.

    Hey thank you very much for your comment, I do agree with what you said, it was so long ago that I wrote that, and at the time I was really in a sad place in my life when my ex dumped me and thats why I wrote it but thank you for your comment I look forward to reading your poems too!

    I think at some point, everyone can relate to this poem. It's something that everyone feels deep inside and you brought it out for everyone to see. this is definetly a poem i'll never get tired of.
