I wish I got to know you
I wish I got to see
How wonderful a gran you are
You mean a lot to me

I wish god didn’t take you
Before you should have gone
I wish I could have met you
I wish I could move on

I know how much dads missed you
I know how hard he tried
I know that when you passed away
Mum said how hard he’d cried

I know you’re looking after us
I know you really care
I know that went you went to heaven
God was waiting there

I just want to say I love you
And I want to say goodbye
I really, really miss you
But I see your warming face lighting up the sky

i wrote this poem for a friend about her grandma after she read mine about my granddad.
